NWIAS Mission Statement

Our mission is to encourage high standards of competence in the treatment of alcohol and other drug dependencies by sponsoring educational programs to improve the skills and knowledge of practitioners in the field.

The NWIAS holds an annual Summer Institute in the Portland Metro area. This conference has been in existence since 1974 and started in Southern Oregon, originally known as the Southern Oregon Institute of Alcohol Studies.

We are committed to offering the highest quality addictions treatment training, with the goal of continually advancing professionalism and best practices of our field.
